Business Intelligence is a concept that involves a certain level of interaction within an organism, analytically and dynamically, to come to business solutions which implement better, more effective and timely decision making. These solutions are reached by establishing an understanding of the right kinds of user data: what is going well, what is going wrong, taking and monitoring certain actions, previously unknown trends, and patterns, and improved collaboration. When all of this data is taken into account, the entire decision-making process, within a business, will inevitably improve. Structure Rule Language

To aid in the ease of rule authoring, Blaze Software, now Fair Isaac, created the proprietary Structure Rule Language (SRL), an object-oriented programming language designed to enable those with little or no background in software development to pen rules. Although the capabilities of this language are far too extensive to detail in this article, we can examine the basic rule syntax.

Rules in the SRL take the following form:

rule RuleName [at | priority M] is

Bill and Paul used the University of Washington's VAX PDP computer to create BASIC for the Altair computer. Certainly laughable by today's standards, it is the very roots of the home computer.

Microsoft became successful because it delivered what people wanted.
